I think Viggo is a good choice for the the father and the images look appropriately grim enough. The Road is about love, and it's about survival, but don't call it post-apocalyptic sci-fi because the masses would never enjoy anything like that.

ReplyDeleteCM has said that he got the theme for the book after thinking about a comet striking the Earth, and the resulting devasation that would ensue from the dust in the atmosphere.

I think if you watch this film, you're going to have to watch Pan's Labyrinth and listen to The Sunset Tree just to cheer yourself up.

Danny – wow that’s a lot of positive reviews for a movie that’s not even finished yet. But I do think the book deserves much praise. I love how it turns the whole post-apocalyptic genre on its head.
EW – lol, I hope you don’t get too down in the dumps! It’s a good book too; I think the deceivably simple storytelling will make for a good movie adaptation.
