Dancin’ Deadites

I was reading Wizard Magazine and what did I see an advertisement for? …Evil Dead the Musical! Wow, how did I miss this? Ash is back and he’s singing and dancing while killing deadites. The Evil Dead films are perfect for a musical adaptation; I think it’s a great idea! If you go, though, be prepared to get splattered with blood, especially if you're in the first four rows. I’ll have to get the soundtrack ASAP. Apparently the NYC version of the Show closed (sniff), but a Toronto version is opening May 1st. The show has the Bruce Campbell stamp of approval so it must be good, right? I hope we get Evil Dead the Musical out here in Pacific Northwest someday.

Here is a scene that was performed on the view:

Best Musical Ever. I'm going for my second time and I'm giddy.

It's one of the few advantages to living in Toronto, the show started here.

We did the stage adaptation of CANNIBAL! the musical (by Trey Parker and Matt Stone) at Dad's Garage. People in the front row were in the splash zone, and got splattered with blood. If you get the DVD you can actually see our version in the special features. I play Swan, the first one eaten.

This sounds like a whole lotta fun.

But I have one question-are there any non-evil dead?

Ya know, like Happy Hunting Ground type folks, who are enjoying the the afterlife.

Or maybe Elysium, where you can have your own ancient plantation, complete w/slaves to feed you grapes.

"They call me Bruce" is coming out which is the movie Campbell produced and starred in and filmed in Ashland. He sort of plays himself.

Pretty good early buzz..

There are good dead, but they don't mess with the living. Also, not many stories about them because they are less dramatic.

mego Wow that’s great! You guys in Toronto get all the good shows!

OD I saw the DVD, I’ll have to watch the extra features! Swan is the “lets build a snowman guy right?”

LB Sorry no nice dead in evil dead

Yep. I sang that song. Twice. Then I got shot.

You really have to dig into the special features to find it.

The Evil Dead musical is great fun - caught it just before it closed a few months back in New York. I'll be getting the soundtrack in a couple of weeks when its out too...

Forgot to ask-

Did they use Sylvester Stallone for that poster?
