Who Really Sucks, Woman or Robinov...?

I’m way late on this but I have to mention a story that’s spread like wildfire on the net just incase you haven’t heard about it. Jeff Robinov, Warner Brothers president of production, has brought the hammer down on female actors with his new order that only movies with males leads will get made and he doesn’t even want to see scripts with women. From Nikki Finke who broke the story here.

You can check out this page for links to just a small sample of the outrage.

Well I guess now we know why DC hates women so much. Part of its parent company (Time/Warner) hates ‘em to. Get a clue Mr. Robinov and Warner. Men made most if not all of the decisions on shitty films like Catwoman. Stop putting women in films that suck instead of blaming them for YOUR management mistakes.

Pretty much stupid!

Movies w/men in the lead can suck just as much as one w/women in the lead.

And most of the reasons didn't have to do w/acting (Halle Berry, Jodie Foster & Nicole Kidman were good in their movies...but the script and/or editing needed HELP!).

If movies are just plain good, they will sell (Something About Mary is a good example).

If they suck, or if if it's just not the right time; which is what I think happened w/Jodi Foster's "The Brave One"-folks want to see upbeat movies now, not something that's conflicted and might make you have to THINK!---especially for Americans who seem to like pre-digested news & entertainment...

Right now I'd probably be most interested in something like "Balls of Fury" or "Good Luck Chuck"

Hell, I'll even see "Mr. Bean's Holiday" if I can get a laugh...

Robinov.

Robinov has an inferiority complex due to being short and bald. Nothing wrong with short and bald, but he can't seem to handle it.

Grow up Jeffry.

Man, I must be wearing rose-colored glasses, because I truly can't believe that stuff like that is said in this day and age.

It's really amazing he would express that... the story speaks for itself...

Well, it must be Wonder Woman, because there's no way a perfectly marketed film made by so many highly-paid professionals could fail... unless its failure was solely caused by the gender of its lead.

Yes! I'm convinced that must be it. It's not the screenwriter who never met a cliche he didn't love or the producers who kept telling him to make it "More like 'Speed,' but with a bus this time!" or the director whose biggest credit to date was having helmed a music video for 311 or all the suits at the studio (they're all MBA's and lawyers for god's sake) who've never read a book since their freshman year in college that wasn't prepared for them a reading service, or the marketing firm with their focus group data who told them the ending "tested unfavorably" or the fact that they were pretty much riding the tail end of last year's moneymaking "tent pole" flicks and bucking the law of diminishing returns in the first place.

So it HAS to be the women. Something's wrong with the women.
