The premise of Hancock opens itself up for a lot of nerd discussions. If there were only one metahuman (of superman powers)on the planet, would he be a villain, a hero, or a 'benevolent' dictator?

If they had to, or wanted to stop him, what if they created a creature/machine/person with enough power to do so and it became a cure worse than the disease?

Now. Get some nerds and some beers and start talkin'

is that similar to creating the giant cats to take care of the mice problem and then you have to create giant dogs etc etc etc? lol

pidomon: 'zactly!

It's the creation of giant dogcatchers that is problematic. Because then you have to create giant bureaucrats to get rid of them and bureaucrats are notoriously hard to get rid of.

Who knew Michael Keaton would be a better Batman than George Clooney?

As for Hancock, I don't know. It doesn't exactly scream must see to me. I'll wait for the inevitable director's cut DVD.

Arkonbey – Well, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Even if this super being was sorta beneficent, certain freedoms would be lost. Alan Moore and Neil Gaiman explored this in Miracleman (marvelman) and it wasn’t bright and shiny even though we had no more nuclear weapons. Basically the superbeing becomes god, and why not, who could oppose him?

Pido and Arkonbey – the hell of unintended consequences

Dean – Ben in Daredevil is the big one,

Doc S - It’s getting bad reviews I’m not so sure now…

EW – I wonder though, if Clooney had had a better director but still his batman was awful.
