Majel Barrett-Roddenberry has passed away. see here. I always liked Majel in all her incarnations with Star Trek. I do wonder whatever happened to Number One though...
Funny how news of her death isn't being carried by the Major New organizations

She was pretty cool as all her characters and voices. Maybe she can become the voice of God.

number one went away because in the sixties the networks weren't ready for the concept of a female executive officer.
She never did get to hook up with Spock. The jerk didn't know what he had.

Forget B-5, are you kidding? I'm still waiting for them to release boxed sets of the 4th and 5th season here in Japan! They got as far as season 3 and then apparently gave up (or ended their contract). ARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!

Number One's story continued in some Star Trek comics.

By 2264, Number One still served aboard the Enterprise under Pike. Following Pike's decision to accept promotion to "fleet captain" and reassignment, Number One agreed to remain behind and continue as first officer under James T. Kirk. Unfortunately, days before the change-of-command ceremony, Number One had an accident in the ship's cargo hold, where a cargo container fell onto her and crushed both her legs. Thankfully, she received prompt medical treatment from Dr. Boyce but her long recovery meant that she couldn't serve as Kirk's first officer. (TOS comic: "All Those Years Ago...")
Following her recovery, Number One finally received a command of her own. (TOS novel: Enterprise: The First Adventure)
