Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th from Yankee Poodle!

She's one of the team members from Captain Carrot and his Amazing Zoo Crew, a guilty pleasure of mine from the 80s. Incidentally you’ll be able to read the adventures of Yankee and the rest of the crew in September when most of their adventures get collected into a Showcase Presents. Oh Yeah! Gotta have my anthropomorphic superheroes.

So fire up the grill, take in the fireworks and have a safe and fun holiday.

Also, if you are not from the US, I’d like to apologize for the Jackass that's ruining our country and has no respect for the Constitution. Hopefully, we’ll get our nation back so we can be part of the solution, rather than part of the problem. Sorry I just had to get political for a moment. Patriotic “events” do that to me.

No problem, Swinebread. A lot of us are feeling exactly the same way right now. Even if we aren't getting fireworks or BBQ thanks to our ex-pat status, there's plenty of room for patriotism.

I have that comic somewhere, I think.

It really was awesome.

As for yesterday- I couldn't bring myself to fly ol' glory and even had a discussion with the wife about that.

So I'm right there with you.

We bought ourselves a "Betsy Ross" flag with 13 stars in a circle at Elmer's Flag. I consider that to be my flag now because it recalls the words of the Declaration, the Constitution, and Bill of Rights that I hold dear. The current flag is beginning to hold the same meaning for me as the hammer and sickle.

I'm sorry, but that poodle thing really freaks me out! Snabby forgot to mention we also had the French flag out for Bastille Day (July 14th)

What's not to celebrate about getting out of jail and torching the place?!!
