Movie of the Week
My super at work tasked me with choosing a movie of the week. All this means is that I select some random movie and post its poster or a still from it in our work area. I don’t even have to have seen it. It’s one of those little cultural enrichment type deals.
Well, to keep it interesting I thought I’d post it here on Atomic Romance too. I’m not setting any rules for this, so maybe I’ll talk about the film or maybe I just upload a picture. We will see. This could be fun.
The first film up is Mansquito. I was telling the gang how awful the Sci-Fi channels original movies were, and they didn’t believe me that a made for cable movie was actually titled Mansquito. I've only seen about one minute of the film.

Oh, god.
Sci-fi channel is not staffed by sci-fi people. If it were, they'd hit those giant Asimov/Greenberg compilations and find good stories with cheap rights that only us nerds have heard of and do a script of that.
It's a bit of a shame that the best stuff on sci-fi comes from Britain.
That was a painful trailer. In 30 years, it could be a B movie cult classic.
Mosquito Man? Just by the title of the movie, I can tell it's an horror movie. I mean, I'd be horrified to spend two hours in front of the tube watching it.
But, still, I'd see it. Yeah, fool me once, twice and all the times you want.
And is there a giant condum in 0:28?
I actually watched a large chunk of that film back in November. It was pretty awful. The Sci-Fi channel is usually a disappointment, in my opinion. I think they should hire some people that actually like science fiction.
wow, ol' Parker Lewis kinda looks like Robert Patrick now.
Gawd, that was horrible...I especially "liked" the slice-the=guy's-head-off-diagonally gratuitous violence bit.
The mosquito mate woman looks like she's saying, "I'm in so much pain! How the hell can I get out of this turd of a movie!".
Arky – I was just having the same conversation with a buddy at work. There so much stuff from the golden age of sci-fi that would attract legions of fans. But it’s not the geeks that watch these terrible movies.
Sanb – Well it certaly is a crap classic
Chris – I’m sure it good for a laugh
Dr. Zaius – Yes, Yes, Yes… that is the same reason Flash Gordon sucked because it was not done by folks that respected or cared about the sci-fi genre.
Rob! – He kinda has the same career too
LB – It’s sad that some folks have to put this one their resume’
COOOOL!!!!!
er, I mean, yeah looks crappy.
total sucky.
yep.
Gee, I'm glad to see makers of made-for-TV movies are so creative and so original...
Then again, Hollywood seems to be in a rut of either "modernized" (i.e. ruined) remakes of old classics or adaptations (i.e. ruined) of comics.
Movie making is a dead art!
