Project Superpowers Trailer

Alex Ross and Jim Krueger's epic Project Superpowers (name change from just "Superpowers" most likely due to Marvel and DC threating legal action) now a has a trailer which can be viewed here.

Some wonderful and classic public domain characters are back.

Like Marvel's The Twelve, I've been excited for this one to arrive since last summer. #0 is out this Wednesday.

I am afraid that I have never heard of these characters. The trailer is neat-o, though!

Dr.Z: I don't think anyone born after 1950 has heard of those characters. But, that's the fun!

Wow. I was trying to rememeber the name of that title after hearing you talk about it. I have to head by the store again this week to get that and the star trek borg issue.

Arkonbey – it’s a very bare bones trailer but it is intriguing.

Panda – hope it is!

Dr. Zaius – These are characters that were popular during the golden age of comics which I’m sure you know was back in the 30s and 40s. Nobody ever bought up the rights after the various comic companies folded that owned these heroes (such as Nedor and Fox Feature syndicate so they languished and became public domain. The guy with the boomerangs is actually the first Dare Devil. I think they’re pretty cool characters and I’m happy to see them revived.

Arkonbey – yup!

Dean – it looks like it’s gonna’ be fun, there’s no 60 years of continuity baggage to deal with. I think that this title, along with The Twelve, will be the real breakthrough superhero titles of 2008.

As for the borg comic let me know if you can’t find it.

Dr. S – see my answer to Dr. Zaius.

I hope they pull of a good series. I don't suppose time will have any effect on these heroes...Geritol rays and DMSO injectors on the utility belt, etc.
