Come With Me If You Want To Be Renewed (Hopefully)

FOX may have a hit on their hands with Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. I really enjoyed the first half of the premiere this last Sunday and I'm looking forward to the second half Monday night.
From Wikipedia:
[The Show is about] the adventures of the title character and her son in the years after Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The series will ignore Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines and Sarah Connor will be alive. The series starts with the return of the Terminators into their lives, prompting Sarah and John to stop running and focus on stopping the birth of Skynet. They are aided by Cameron, a Terminator, played by Summer Glau, who poses as a student at John's school and whose mission is to protect John. Meanwhile, an FBI agent named James Ellison pursues Sarah and John with the belief that Sarah is deranged.

I didn't pay attention to any of the publicity for the show and I'm glad I didn't because the plot was a delightful surprise. A great premise, good actors, and thrilling action (for a TV program), make Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles a winner in my book (so far). Sure it's got a TV budget but it works for what they're trying to do with this program. It's a case where less is more. It makes me happy to see Summer Glau on network TV again and it makes me really happy the whole thing doesn't look like Vancouver B.C.

Of course I could be all wrong and the Sarah Connor Chronicles will get cancelled... this IS a sci-fi show on FOX we are talking about here.

I was pleasantly surprised by the pilot - at first I didn't think that Headey was tough enough, but she cleared that up by the end of the episode.

Dekker's passable but hasn't had much to do but brood, but Glau is pretty good as Data-lite. Plus she's a cutie.

I think the terminator named Cameron was a nice tough.

I'll save any nitpicky comments until after I've seen more than the trailer.

It was pretty good.

It lacks Arnie, of course. But the rest was better than expected and better than most t.v.

I think it is going to suck.

"But Mom, why can't I date an evil cyborg from the future? You never let me have any fun!"

Maybe I'm wrong, though.

If this series gets moved to a Friday it won't be back I can tell u that much.

FOX Networks....the true Terminators.

Hasta la vista....quality shows.

Ok...I think I have adequately beaten the joke dead.

Coooool! Aaaaawesome! Totally RAAAAD!!!!!!

Yet another promising show that'll probably get canceled before I ever get a chance to see it.

Of course, I said the same thing about the new BSG...which I STILL haven't seen.

No, I'm not bitter...

I actually forgot about it, which was strange because they had about 42 billion promos during the football game. But you're right, if it does indeed end up being quality, it'll be canceled. That's what Fox does. Or they keep shit on too long, I'm looking at you, X-Files.

Rich – I agree. I also had the extra benefit of missing the opening credits so I didn’t even know Glau was going to be a Terminator, so that was an extra surprise.

Dr. S – sometimes if a show is popular the so it overseas right?

Arkonbey – it’s a fun show. I enjoyed it although I thought the name Cameron might be too obvious an homage.

Dear – Who knows, if it’s a big hit maybe he can make a cameo…

Dr. Zaius – you know, If I had just seen the trailer, I would think the same thing. It was better than I expected actually. The first night premier better than the second though.

Nick – ahhhh your right. That is the sign well I’ll watch for it. I sure hope it’s not cancelled because “I’ll be back” for more.

Moody – Well, it’s not on the sci-fi channel so maybe you have a little bit better of a chance of seeing it. Although, it sure seems like the sci-fi shows have a harder time being imported to Japan than regular dramas.

Randal – Fox pumps out a lot of Sci-Fi but they sure as hell don’t know how to manage their properties.
