Ah, Johnathan Statham is carving a niche as a B-minus movie actor.
This is reminiscent of that movie where the convicts were placed on the island to fight each other to the death and the winner goes free. What I find funny is both movies' idea is to create super-criminals who are the strongest, fastest, most lethal and least moral of their peers. Neato!
The original, while cheesy, was a pretty fun satire on American culture.
EW – ala cloverfield? Yeah, it could be OK if they stick to a straightforward action movie
OD – It’s seems to be a whole different animal than the original deathrace. A car wars movie would be great or even better a TV show.
Snab – could be
Arkonbey – “This is reminiscent of that movie where the convicts were placed on the island to fight each other to the death and the winner goes free.” What film is that?

Looks like a "Running Man" sequel.
Is this a look at the future if gas prices keep going up?
This could be a fun action flick if they don't quick edit and shaky cam the hell out of it.
I don't know if it will be as good as Death Race 2000 was. I hope they used Steve Jackson's Car Wars as a reference.
Yawn
