Batocchio said...: Mad TV is underrated. Alas, because they tape in advance by about two weeks most of the time, they're told not to be very topical, and so they don't go political that often as a result.

SNL in its crappy periods generally has 2-3 good sketches still, but it can be awfully painful sitting through to find them. I agree, I'd love to have a really sharp sketch show out there.

Mad TV nearly jumped the shark for me a couple of years ago when it seemed to be the Ms. Kwan show. But, they're back and funny as ever.

Bat… - I agree MadTV is funnier but sadly it’s less topical… We need a new kids in the Hall… there’s been a few things on cable but they just haven’t caught on with me.

Arkonbey – I think SNL got some of that magic back in late 80’s as some of my favorite skits are from that time but then Toonces the driving cat was the funniest thing in the world to me. But timing is why Mad TV is better Yes
